peace, wordpress
i’m movin’ up and over to join all the other fashion people at blogger. i know it’s annoying when people change their url’s, especially if you’re as lazy as i am. i apologize, and i promise things look nicer on the new blog. now if you’ll just follow me…
no hard feelings wordpress, i just need room to grow. you know how it is.
destitution through globalization – thanks internet!
since really delving into the world of online fashion [a necessity when one lives in a cultural black hole] i have developed a certain desire. i’ve found myself in desperate need of learning swedish, dutch, and danish. with all these awesome scandinavian fashion sites i constantly find myself in the predicament of “you look so cute but i haven’t the slightest idea what you are saying!” it’s truly an international travesty.
shopping, however, is a language which i consider universal. no matter what language you speak, conveying the message “I WANT THAT” is certainly do-able. and i want almost every item on youheshe’s online store. youheshe is based in denmark, and carries everything from vanessa bruno and sass&bide to brands you’ve never heard of. the site’s design is artsy but clean and well organizd, something i am a total sucker for. cute clothes but disorganized site? i’m out. not a problem for youheshe, which organizes their stuff by designer, catagory, and then color. here’s a sampling:
american vintage dress arena 10 phantom ring
rika t-shirt dress rasta silk dress
sabrina dehoff bunny necklace malababa clutch
athé by vanessa bruno tank superfine tank
and here are some extremely practical danish words that i picked up:
naeste = next
sko = shoes
alle = all
tasker = bags
smykker = jewelry
any of you nordic kids, feel free to throw me some vocab words. :)
skull set
is it weird that going to h&m always makes me wish i were a boy?
i snatched this tee from the men’s section. :)

a nice comfy outfit to take a five hour AP test in.
GUHHHH.
best of lucky
so lucky magazine [aka an edited catalog of amazingly cute things i can't afford] has this page on their website called “cute outfit of the day,” which i think is brilliant. basically it shows off how cool their staff looks all the time and serves as a big HA HA to all those nine to fivers with boring dress codes. here are some of my faves:

seriously emile, call me.

seriously, is that not the coolest name ever? and the clothes! agh, so amazing. i wish my local borders carried more australian fashion mags. of course i’m always too cheap to cough up the cash for the international rags so i just devour them in store and go home with my five dollar anthem mag. i swear when i have some sort of real career i will have about ten magazines being delivered to my door every day. i’m addicted! :D now here’s some more from australian fashion week:
cute name? pink, black and grey? i’m in.

bird graphics and bare feet? hell yeah.

coolest name + coolest clothes ever? yesssss.

incredibley inventive and exciting? nah.
some incredibly cute dresses and shorts? aw yeah.

some weird samurai hair and one incredibley frightening model?
[seriously guy, no offense, but you scare the shit out of me.]
all is forgiven because of the bombass clothes.

cool down under
so i’ve been checking out australia’s fashion week photos, [which has proven to be a surprisingly difficult task - apparently my computer and vogue australia's website don't enjoy each other's company]. it’s definitely different from fashion on this half of the globe. there is a lot more playfulness in australian fashion. it seems to lack that uptight pretension you can easily spot in a lot of fashion from america and europe. i was especially glad to come upon ginger & smart while browsing, so i looked them up and was pleased to find that i liked their old stuff even better. [they even managed to make a maxi-dress that i don't despise!] definitely an inspiration for summer dressing.
[can't say i dig the obnoxious fringey stuff though...]
